Can I just say how much it confuses me when people drop the "East" from East Prairie? And also how strange it is that that street has its directional as an integral part of the name?
Yes, people in the r/evanston Reddit thread on the break have reported pressure issues at Ridge/Main and Asbury/Main. We are also in that area and our whole building is having pressure issues so far today.
It does impact a lot of Evanston in terms of traffic but I think you're right that most of the homes and streets impacted are on the Skokie side. I'm still trying to figure out who owned the pipe

I added the East back!
Is anyone else in Evanston (i.e. NOT Skevanston) experiencing reduction in water pressure?

And silence from city of evanston
It didn't happen in Evanston and doesn't appear to impact any Evanston streets.
Boil water issue for parts of NW Evanston now: https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/ILEVANSTON/bulletins/3d25e0d

It certainly would have impacted Walker and Rhodes but there is no school today after PT Conferences.
It’s a disaster; low or no water pressure and all Skokie schools are closed. My daughter was halfway to school when she got the message to go home.
Thanks for the heads up on Skokie Schools! Going to update my story
Seems like East Prairie 73 is open which is insane; there is a boil order for all of Skokie
And now parents are being told to pick up their kids due to no useable bathrooms…who could have seen that coming?
Frustratingly, Walker/D65 didn't send out any info on whether the SACC optional care program would be running today.
To be fair, the water main break occurred at 5:15am and the boil order didn't hit until 8:15 when the optional care program was already running.
There is really no way they could anticipate the severity of the break. Hopefully they can scramble and get the kids to a location in Evanston.
Maybe Turner can get her driver to shuttle kids in the new Ford Explorer.
Finally a chance to use the sweet vehicles!
